  Born in Italy in 1474, Angela was a Third Order of Saint Franciscan who embraced a life of poverty and sacrifice. She was deeply committed to the education of the girls in her town and founded the Company of Saint Ursula. The Ursulines are the oldest women’s teaching order in the Church.
