Saint Bernard of Montjoux

The cold, snowy mountain passes from Italy to Switzerland were very dangerous, so Bernard founded two hostels. The clergy there were always ready to rescue travelers from the snow, and they trained big dogs, now called Saint Bernards, to help too.

Saint Barbara
$6.00Saint Barbara was the beautiful daughter of a pagan merchant. He kept her locked in a tower, which gave Barbara plenty of time to pray. When her father ordered a bath house built for Barbara, she asked the builders to add a third window in honor of the Trinity. When Barbara’s father found out that she was a Christian, he was furious and tried to get her to renounce her faith. She bravely refused and was martyred on December 4th.

Saint Augustine Zhao Rong
$6.99Augustine Zhao Rong, a Chinese soldier, was ordered to escort a bishop to his death sentence in Beijing. The bishop’s courage, patience and demeanor amazed Augustine and changed his life. Risking his own death sentence, Augustine was baptized, became a priest, and was himself martyred in 1815. In the year 2000, Augustine was canonized by Pope John Paul II, along with 119 other Chinese martyrs who had died for the Faith throughout the years.

Saint Augustine

Augustine was made a Doctor of the Church for his brilliant writings.

Saint Andrew Kim Taegon
$6.99Though Christianity was brought to Korea in 1592, it would be 250 years before the country had its first native-born priest. Andrew Kim Taegon came from a Christian family; his great-grandfather, grand-uncle, and father were all martyred under the Joseon Dynasty. Andrew traveled covertly to China to become a priest, and returned to Korea to preach and evangelize. He was captured, tortured and executed in 1846 at age 25.

Saint Andrew

He became one of the twelve apostles and continued to preach after Jesus’ resurrection. For evangelizing in Greece, Andrew was tied to an X-shaped cross, where he preached for two more days until his final breath.

Saint Andre Bessette

Saint Amelia

Saint Ambrose

Ambrose preached the faith with skill and courage, and helped convert St. Augustine.

Saint Aloysius Conzaga
$6.99Aloysius Gonzaga was raised by a worldly father amidst the vices of European nobility. After receiving his First Communion from Saint Charles Borromeo, Aloysius began to pray, do penance, and teach the catechism. Renouncing his inheritance, he entered the Jesuits, though sickness left him chronically weak. When plague struck Rome, Aloysius tended to the victims but fell ill himself and died at the age of 23 in 1591.
